About us
The Amsterdam International Community School (AICS) is a Dutch International Primary and Secondary School offering international education in English to 2400 students of more than 80 different nationalities who are (temporarily) living in the Netherlands and are enjoying high quality, accessible, community based international learning.
The AICS is a partly-state-funded community school, which enables us to deliver high-quality education at competitive fees. We were the first school in the Netherlands to offer the full IB continuum (IB, PYP, MYP, DP and CP) and are a fully accredited member of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

- Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrable experience supporting adolescents with additional learning or wellbeing needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build positive professional relationships with students, colleagues and families.
- An ability to support students in developing increasing independence, self-regulation and participation in learning and school life.
- An understanding and knowledge of various cultural backgrounds
- Work collaboratively as an active member of a dynamic multidisciplinary team to support student learning, wellbeing and inclusion.
- Excellent command of the English language and communication skills, proficiency in the Dutch language is desirable
- A resilient attitude and a good sense of humor
- A commitment to the school’s mission to provide high-quality community-based international learning in the form of the IB programme
About the position
The teaching assistant role, in the secondary school special education programme (FYP), support students with additional learning and wellbeing needs to become increasingly independent and confident young people. Working as part of a dynamic team, the role supports students to access learning, participate in mainstream classes and thrive in school life.

- Salary in payscale 5, based upon knowledge and experience (min. €2582 -max. €3453 full-time per month, before tax).

We offer a temporary contract for 0,8fte -1,0 fte with the prospect of a permanent position after one year based on proven suitability.
