The Amsterdam International Community School (AICS) is a growing international school in Amsterdam. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and knowledgeable candidate. 

AICS has a job opportunity for an experienced leader with an overall responsibility for the day to day management in the primary division of our South East campus. The Head of Campus will join a dynamic leadership team that collaboratively translates our mission and vision into action.

Does this job suit you?
As Head of Campus Primary you will need to have a commitment to the school’s mission, vision and direction to provide high-quality community-based international learning in the form of the IB programme. You are able to implement a vision on education suitable for an IB world school and to contribute to the development and implementation of the policies for the school. You will be responsible for performance and development of staff and are able to contribute to a close school community and work as part of a dynamic and engaged leadership team.

  • Gross monthly salary: min. € 5,441.- | max. € 7,710.- (pay scale A13 CAO-PO) full-time base;

AICS offers a one year contract starting from 1 August 2025 until 31 July 2026 for 1.0 FTE with the option of a permanent contract after one year.

The role asks for:

  • an experienced leader in an international (CIS) school with preferably an IB program;
  • someone with excellent leadership skills;
  • extensive knowledge of and experience with different teaching and educational methodologies with a focus on concept based inquiry learning;
  • excellent command of the English language and a good understanding of Dutch would be an advantage;
  • excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills;
  • intercultural competence to work with and manage people from diverse cultural backgrounds;
  • someone who is flexible, resilient, open to new ideas, a team player, has a collaborative mindset and a good sense of humour.

The AICS is a Dutch International Primary and Secondary School. Our vision statement is to be a community where learning is at the heart of everything we do. The mission of the AICS is to facilitate high quality, accessible, community-based international learning for students of all nationalities living in The Netherlands.

The AICS was the first school in the Netherlands to offer the full IB continuum (IB PYP, MYP, DP, and CP). Together with a number of other national Dutch schools we form the ‘Esprit School Group’.

The AICS is a partly-state-funded community school, which enables us to deliver high-quality education at competitive fees. The AICS is a fully-accredited member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and offers international education to internationally-mobile students from over 70 different nationalities.

The AICS currently offers Primary education to students aged 4-11 and Secondary education to students aged 11-19. The main language of instruction for classes is English. The AICS is located in two campuses, both in the city of Amsterdam: AICS South and AICS South East.
