The Amsterdam International Community School (AICS) is a growing International school in Amsterdam. Due to the continued growth of our school, we have a job opportunity for an administrative assistant for 0,8 - 1,0 fte with a knack for data accuracy to assist our systems and timetabling teams. 

Pay scale 5 (min. €1861,- max. €2659,- full-time per month, before tax).


About the Amsterdam International Community School (AICS)
The AICS is a Dutch International Primary and Secondary School in the Netherlands.  We are an IB school that offers MYP, DP, CP, and we are currently a candidate PYP school. Together with a number of other national Dutch schools we form ‘Esprit Scholen’. 

The AICS is a partly-state-funded community school, which enables us to deliver high-quality education at competitive fees. The AICS is a fully-accredited member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and offers international education to internationally-mobile students from over 50 different nationalities. 

The AICS currently offers Primary education to students aged 4-11 and Secondary education to students aged 11-19. The main language of instruction for classes is English. The AICS is located in three campuses throughout the city of Amsterdam: AICS Main (Primary and Secondary, over 1100 students), AICS Satellite (Primary only, around 200 students) and AICS South East (Primary and Secondary, over 300 students).

Mission Statement
The AICS facilitates high quality, accessible, community-based international learning for students of all nationalities living in The Netherlands.

You will be assisting the timetablers and systems team with:

daily updating and maintaining of (new) student data in our systems; 

cross reference checking of exported data from all systems to update changed contact details;

● adjusting schedules after consultation with stakeholders as a result of special or changing circumstances;

● processing the daily schedule changes;

● making various schedules such as the test schedule, the schedule for report meetings, the class schedule during report meetings, the class schedule for teacher replacement, the class schedule during excursions, etc.;

● informing, in a timely manner, teachers and students about timetables and schedule changes and providing additional information;

● providing instruction, information and training for users;

● informing and supporting (new) users of our different systems;

● communicating with with users about any issues/questions that arise in order to provide assistance;

communicating with the Central Bureau of Esprit scholen and other relevant AICS departments.

You need to have: 

impeccable attention to detail and thoroughness in your work; 

● understanding of and/or willingness to learn about different systems such as iSAMS, ManageBac, OpenApply, Kognity, ParnasSys, Magister, Untis;

interest in working in a fast paced, demanding, school environment; 

the ability to maintain confidentiality & handle sensitive information appropriately; 

an understanding and knowledge of different cultural backgrounds; 

excellent communication skills and ability to function well within a team;

● sound knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Word);

skills in carefully and accurately creating schedules and timetables; 

skills in instructing users;

● experience of working in English and Dutch; 

● insight into users’ needs and the ability to assess them;
